What ISO 45010 actually asks of employers
On 7 September 2026, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) launched ISO 45010 (Occupational health and safety management — Menstruation and menopause in the workplace — Guidance). This is the world's first global standard specifically designed to help employers support workers experiencing menstruation, menstrual health conditions, and the menopause transition.
This is so exciting, as it moves menstrual health from a “nice to have” to a key part of workplace health and safety. This something we’ve been working towards for years, alongside partners from HSBC and Cathay to EY, and it’s incredible to see it finally recognised at an international level.
The standard covers areas including:
- Culture: Moving past stigma so employees can communicate health challenges openly without penalties.
- Policy: Structuring reasonable workplace adjustments, flexible hours, and fair attendance parameters.
- Manager Capability: Training people leaders so they confidently and empathetically handle internal disclosures.
- Facilities: Providing washrooms and facilities that reflect the real-world needs of menstruation and menopause.
- Measurement: Establishing clear data parameters to track whether your adjustments are functioning.
Reading the standard is straightforward. Turning it into daily practice is not.
That's where GoodPeriod comes in. We're a B Corp-certified, woman-led impact venture whose team has partnered with over 150 employers in this space since 2019. We bridge the operational gap between commercial facilities, global standards, and scalable social impact.
We don't just help you check a compliance box; we help you turn a new standard into a powerful driver of employer brand value, employee loyalty, and verified community change.
The Expensive Mistake: The Fragmented Market Trap
Here is what we expect to happen across the corporate landscape over the next year: an organisation reads the new ISO 45010 requirements, agrees with the framework, and sets out to respond by patching together mismatched vendors.
Washroom inventory comes from a facilities supplier. Manager training comes from an external learning provider. Policy templates come from an employment lawyer, and basic educational content comes from a generic corporate wellbeing platform.
The result? Disparate suppliers and fragmented programmes that fail to communicate with each other. This doesn't just cost more financially — it costs you long-term employee buy-in, manager confidence, and cultural engagement.
That isn't a failure of intent. It is the inevitable result when a joined-up global standard meets a highly fragmented procurement market.
And we exist to change this.

We have been building this operational model across Asia since 2019 — long before an international standard was finalised. The arrival of ISO 45010 doesn't change how we execute; it simply means the corporate world now has an official name for the care standard we have always delivered.
True Social Procurement: Impact Powered by Trade
Beyond operational compliance, GoodPeriod delivers an asset traditional commercial suppliers simply cannot match. We are a Certified B Corp and an impact venture. We operate on a direct corporate-to-grassroots funding engine.
When you invest in an annual Employer Programme for your workplace, that single enterprise transaction funds your internal infrastructure while cross-subsidizing menstrual care kits, school distribution loops, and reproductive literacy for underserved women and girls locally and globally.
What you put in your workplace, we fund in the community. You do not need a separate philanthropic budget to drive social change; you simply need to build a better workplace.
